Ingredients
  

  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 can 28 ounces crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions
 

  • Heat olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.
  • Add the flour and whisk until combined. Cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.
  • Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  • Add the red pepper flakes, basil, oregano, parsley, salt, and black pepper and stir to combine.
  • Add the crushed tomatoes and water and bring to a simmer.
  • Reduce heat to low and simmer for 60 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Serve over spaghetti or your favorite pasta.
